Inspire the Dream with College Matrix

The College Matrix Inspire the Dream Scholarship provides $750 in financial support to Baltimore City Public School System (BCPSS) seniors who are preparing to pursue higher education.

The award is intended to support students as they take their next step in learning and can be applied toward educational expenses. This scholarship highlights the importance of creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving in shaping a better future.

How to Apply*

Applicants must submit a one-page essay (PDF format) addressing a local, national, or global subject that, in your opinion, creates an issue. In your own words, describe the issue and propose one or more potential solutions. Submissions should focus on originality, creativity, and clarity.

Complete the online application form and upload your one-page PDF essay by the deadline date. In the event of a tie in grading, the earliest submission will receive the award.

Remember: your submission will be viewable to the public (using your College Matrix username), please do not include any personally identifiable information.

Additional Eligibility Criteria

The sponsor has specified that the scholarship has the following additional eligibility criteria, or focus.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:
• Be a Grade 12 student enrolled in a Baltimore City Public School System (BCPSS) high school.
• Plan to attend a college, university, or trade school in the 2026–2027 academic year.
• Demonstrate financial need.
Awardee only will have to provide:
• Proof of financial need (e.g., FAFSA award, free/reduced lunch documentation, or a letter from a school counselor).
• Verification of current BCPSS high school enrollment.
• By July 15, 2026: the name of the institution they will attend.

Application Submissions

Applications are currently open. You may submit your application before the application period closes. Your submission will be graded and a recipient will be selected after applications are reviewed.
