AFA’s Teen Alzheimer’s Awareness Scholarship provides educational funding to college-bound high school seniors who have been impacted by Alzheimer’s disease. The grand prize winner receives $5,000, with additional prizes awarded for runners up. More than $350,000 in college scholarships have been awarded since the program’s inception.

The Bardos Foundation is named in honor of Denes and Agota Bardos, two Hungarian refugees who escaped Soviet persecution to make a life together in America. Bill taught biology in the Alexandria School District for 31 years. His love and appreciation for hunting, fishing and conservation lead to establishing the Junior Viking Sportsmen’s Club, culturing young men and women to understand the value of our wetlands and ecosystems. He was fundamental to many local projects, which included establishing the local goose population, building wood duck houses, and was a leader in both the Viking Sportsmen and Evansville Sportsmen clubs.
